(BISMARCK, ND) – Following tonight’s Vice Presidential debate between Tim Kaine and Mike Pence, the North Dakota Democratic-NPL party released the following statement from Executive Director Robert Haider:
“Tonight, Mike Pence tried in vain to defend his running mate’s indefensible behavior and total lack of fitness to serve as President of the United States. Pence bent over backward to excuse Donald Trump’s disastrous record, his repeated falsehoods, the fact that Trump callously avoided paying taxes for years if not decades, and Trump’s erratic and dangerous policy ideas. But the one fact Mike Pence cannot escape is that Donald Trump is the most unqualified, temperamentally unfit presidential candidate in American history.
“Like Pence, Senator Hoeven, Governor Dalrymple, Congressman Cramer, and Doug Burgum must also answer for their support for Donald Trump. Congressman Cramer and Governor Dalrymple both serve in advisory capacities to Trump’s campaign, helping Trump raise money and build support for his electoral efforts. Doug Burgum and Senator Hoeven have thrown their support behind Donald Trump, but avoid talking about him like he’s the plague. North Dakotans deserve answers when their elected leaders refuse to speak out on Donald Trump’s outrageous behavior and abysmal record.”
