The Neighbor-to-Neighbor in North Dakota program is an initiative designed to strengthen community bonds and promote civil discussion on relevant issues through the distribution of four Democrats Deliver editions. This program is championed by the Dem-NPL State Party. It encourages neighbors to connect, discuss issues, and keep updated with political events and discussions.
The program involves connecting with a chosen group of 25 people, four times. These people could be friends, family, or individuals from your neighborhood or a nearby rural area.
Participants are expected to distribute four editions of Democrats Deliver to their contact list. These editions will include articles about candidates, democracy, freedom, voting, and volunteering. They can be left at public locations for wider reach. The State Party will send you copies of the editions to deliver to your contact list. Each edition has specific themes and messages to promote.
- Winter Edition: distribute mid-winter, promote district & state convention
- Spring Edition: distribute after the convention, invite contacts to district events
- Summer Edition: distribute after Primary, provide statewide and local candidate info
- Fall Edition: distribute with absentee ballot request forms and where-to-vote information
During each contact, participants are encouraged to have a conversation, share the Democrats Deliver edition, ask about their awareness of the content, listen to their responses, and update contact details.
Participants are also responsible for updating the information collected during these interactions. They can do this through Google Forms, email, MiniVAN, or VoteBuilder. Notes on issues discussed should also be kept for reference.
The program also encourages volunteers to leave the Democrats Deliver fliers in places where they might get read, such as grocery store bulletin boards, coffee shops, and libraries.
