Position: Native American Constituency Organizer

The 2020 North Dakota Coordinated Campaign (NDCC) is now accepting applications for full-time and part-time Native American Constituency Organizers. These individuals will work on behalf of the Dem-NPL Congressional, statewide, and legislative candidates. 

Native American Constituency Organizers (NACOs) are the face of the 2020 NDCC in tribal communities across the state and will work to educate Native Americans on voter ID laws, motivate Native American voters to support our candidates, and increase turnout in the Native American community. NACOs will work with the Statewide Field Director to craft and execute a plan to engage, organize, and mobilize Native American voters. 

Responsibilities:

The Native American Constituency Organizers will:

  • Create and implement a plan to engage, organize, and mobilize Native American voters and ultimately ensure they vote in the 2020 election;
  • Develop and implement early voting programs;
  • Conduct basic voter contact;
  • Recruit, retain, and develop volunteer leaders;
  • Ensure data integrity in the Native American Vote program;
  • Execute and evaluate events;
  • Plan and crowd build informational events for Native American voters.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and team player
  • Attention to detail

Please note: given the COVID-19 public health emergency, much of our organizing work is conducted virtually at this time. Access to an internet connection is important. If you do not have access, the Dem-NPL will work with you to make appropriate accommodations. 

Salary:

Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits include fully paid health insurance for full time positions.

Position: Field Organizers

The 2020 North Dakota Coordinated Campaign (NDCC) is now accepting applications for Field Organizers. This position will work on behalf of the Dem-NPL Congressional, Gubernatorial, statewide, and legislative candidates.

Field Organizers (FOs) are the face of the 2020 NDCC in communities across the state, work to educate about vote-by-mail, voter ID laws, motivate undecided voters to support our candidates, and increase turnout amongst low propensity voters. FOs will work with the Field Director or Regional Field Director to craft and execute a plan to engage, organize, and mobilize voters in their assigned region

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, manage, and train volunteers in their communities and neighborhoods
  • Conduct virtual volunteer trainings  
  • Persuade and motivate voters
  • Developing a plan to organize their turf based on its unique characteristics
  • Identify and cultivate volunteer team leaders
  • Build relationships with community leaders
  • Ensure data integrity

FOs are also expected to work long hours and weekends. They will also work closely with legislative candidates to execute an effective field plan in targeted legislative districts throughout the state.
