Fedorchak fails to fight for North Dakotans again as Trump-Vance Admin raises drug prices on seniors

July 29, 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
July 29, 2026

FARGO – The Trump-Vance Administration announced they will end Medicare Part D subsidies, which are used by tens of millions of older or disabled Americans. These Biden-era subsidies are overwhelmingly popular and have helped bring down healthcare costs. In 2025, about 33,000 North Dakotans saw a savings of nearly $17 million.

North Dakota Democratic-NPL Chair Adam Goldwyn said, “When will Julie Fedorchak grow a spine and stand up for North Dakota seniors? Last year she had no problem giving a giant handout to out-of-state billionaires paid for on the backs of working-class families. Now, she’s nowhere to be found as Trump and JD Vance jack up the cost of prescription drugs. While Republican lawmakers make healthcare unaffordable, North Dakota Democratic-NPL candidates like Trygve Hammer will fight to protect Medicare and work to bring down healthcare costs across the board.”

Fedorchak, Hoeven, and Cramer voted for the Big Ugly Bill despite bipartisan protestation, which imposed the largest cut to healthcare in U.S. history.
They refused to extend the popular enhanced Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits, which brought down premiums by an average of $486 for 38,239 people across the state.
