Vote in the ND Democratic Presidential Primary!

It is a presidential election year!

Making sure we keep our democracy intact has never been more important and your participation in this primary is the first step.

North Dakota is just one of five states where the state does not run the presidential primary election. Each of our counties will conduct the primary election for statewide candidates and local races; but in ND, the political parties run their own presidential primaries.

The ND Democratic NPL began planning for this, in consultation with the DNC, more than a year ago and now we are executing on that plan which stipulates a mail-in ballot. Almost all of the voting is by mail with limited exceptions for the reservations. There will be no in-person voting, except for residents of the reservations where there will be a polling station in place for one day.

Everyone in ND may choose to vote by mail. To request a ballot, go to MRGballot.com and select ND. There you will be able to confirm your email and postal addresses, and cell phone number, as a part of the security process. Ballots will go out starting Feb 20th, and to be sure yours goes out in that first batch, make your request by Feb 7. Requests received after Feb 7th will be sent out as they come in.

Any qualified North Dakota voter or any person who will have met all the qualifications of a voter at the next general election, and who has completed a form declaring they wish to participate as a Democrat is qualified to vote in the Party-Run Primary.

Ballots MUST be received by noon on March 30th to be counted. To ensure your ballot is received and counted, request your ballot by Feb 7. And then mail the ballot back to:

ND Democratic NPL
PO Box 9946
Fargo, ND 58106

You may also drop your ballot off at the office in Fargo until noon on March 30th, but please call (701) 255-0460 ahead to ensure a staff member is there to receive your ballot.

Thank you for participating in this fundamental practice of our democracy!
