Letter: Rep. Armstrong chose party over peace

Letter: On Worker’s Memorial Day, let's remember the 6 ND workers that did not come home in 2023

On Workers Memorial Day and throughout the year, we need to work together to make sure employers embrace safety and health as a core value in their operations so that every worker goes home safely, every day. We also must remember each one of us has a role to play. If you are aware of, or witness workplace dangers — or feel unsafe on the job — don’t ignore the hazards. Speak up and share your concerns with your employer and alert your co-workers when you see them exposed to hazards. If nothing changes, contact your local OSHA office. Reports can be made confidentially.

Respected Texas newspaper endorses Biden

This major Texas newspaper endorsed Joe Biden for president in 2024. The editorial staff gave reasons such as Biden’s team in the White House “has performed remarkably well, despite the rancor and divisiveness that have afflicted this nation for nearly a decade.” Supporting this assertion, the editorial points out that “the economy has recovered from the perils of the pandemic and is now healthier than that of any other advanced nation,” that “employment is approaching a 50-year low,” and that “inflation is trending downward, somehow, despite all the dire prophecies of economists.”

McFeely: Charisma was the big loser in debate between Armstrong, Miller

All of this is a long-winded way of saying you didn't miss much if you missed the debate. The choices are clear: An extremely wealthy Republican who dreams of giving foot massages to Donald Trump while excoriating Joe Biden over an international border 1,300 miles away or an extremely wealthy Republican who dreams of giving foot massages to Donald Trump while excoriating Joe Biden over an international border 1,300 miles away.

Child care crisis and worker shortages be darned, the next governor of North Dakota wants you to know they'll burrow their way into one of Trump's body orifices if it means you'll vote for them.

It'll be easy. Neither will need any room for charisma.

'One person responsible for this nightmare': Biden pins Florida 6-week abortion ban on Trump

Biden scores major union backing as its leaders attack Trump

In praising Biden’s efforts for working people, McGarvey cited the investments and union protections built into the infrastructure act, the Covid-era American Rescue Plan, the CHIPs Act to increase technological production nationwide and the Inflation Reduction Act. He acknowledged that, for the moment, Biden’s support is stronger among his union’s leadership than it is among many of his members, whom he said were close to evenly split in 2020 between Biden and Trump, and generally remain so.

“They think now Joe Biden and Trump are running again, they think it’s just two politicians, ‘Same old, same old,’” McGarvey said. “Lo and behold, it’s not the same old, same old.”

The Supreme Court’s likely to make it more dangerous to be pregnant in a red state

So the ultimate question looming over the Moyle case is whether two of the Court’s Republican appointees will be so troubled by the weakness of the anti-abortion arguments in this case, and so embarrassed by the fact that there’s really only one plausible way to read EMTALA, that they will begrudgingly apply the law as written.

Net neutrality is back: U.S. promises fast, safe and reliable internet for all

The decision effectively restores so-called net neutrality rules that were first introduced during the Obama administration in 2015 and repealed two years later under President Trump.
