DESCRIPTION:Speakers will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. Speakers will include Native activist Chase Iron Eyes\, a member of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe; Lakota People’s Law Project organizer Phyllis Young\, former Standing Rock tribal council member and an MIT Solve Fellow; North Dakota Public Service Commission candidates Jean Brandt and Casey Buchmann; and Brad Magnuson\, chairman of the Dem-NPL Renewable Energy Caucus. \nDiscussion will include net metering\, or selling privately produced renewable energy to the grid. Along with serious topics of discussion\, there will be food and entertainment\, including a performance by local artist Helms Deep at 4:30 p.m.

This is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with our State Legislature as well as network with current legislators and staff.\nParticipants will be meeting at 8:30am at the Capitol at the Senate Minority Leaders Office (in the back of the Senate Chamber). There are help desks located around the Capitol to stop and ask for directions.\nThe day will begin by attending legislative hearings\, a free lunch in the Brynhild Haugland Room starting at 11:30am\, and sitting in on floor sessions that afternoon.\nThe day will conclude with the House Caucus Steak Fry Fundraiser — steak and drinks at the Comfort Inn in Bismarck!
