North Dakota Democratic lawmaker proposes bills to protect IVF, birth control
Hanson said she fears that there will be legislation in the 2025 session targeting IVF as an extension of North Dakota’s strict anti-abortion law passed in 2023.
|
“I am hearing widespread concern that far-right legislators in North Dakota will take the next step and limit other types of reproductive health care, from birth control to infertility care,” Hanson said. “Some anti-abortion groups have called for IVF to be banned because they believe that life begins at the moment of fertilization, and that discarding embryos that aren’t implanted should be a crime.”

Rallying on the Ellipse, Harris calls on voters to reject Trump’s ‘chaos and division’
“I pledge to seek common ground and common sense solutions to make your life better. I am not looking to score political points. I am looking to make progress,” she said. “I pledge to listen to experts, to those who will be impacted by the decisions I make and to people who disagree with me. Unlike Donald Trump, I don’t believe people who disagree with me are the enemy.”

Zaleski: Katrina has the right stuff
She’s the real thing. As a senator, she would be as disciplined and tenacious as her campaign material says she is. Her record proves as much. Unlike the incumbent, Christiansen would bring far more than political opportunism to the U.S. Senate. Unlike “experienced” Cramer, she would not be captive to a cult, but rather would put country, state and patriotism above unprincipled loyalty.

To Me, Being a North Dakotan Means…
|
Being a North Dakota is being fiercely independent and free! Free to our own beliefs, free to walk our own personal journey of faith without persecution or having another’s religion pushed onto us against our will, and free to pursue our dreams and live our best lives as we see fit, with the least amount of government intervention as possible.

My name is Jess Arneson and I am asking for your vote for the District 46 North Dakota Senate this November 5th. Thank you.

Cramer and Christiansen respond to common questions
So we need to have a farm bill. Right now. We actually do not have an authorized Farm Bill. And so it’s really important that somebody leads the charge and makes sure that our farmers have access to dual enrollment and crop insurance. We get those reference prices to be reflective of modern times, and that we are looking forward and thinking about the problems we might have. We need to deal with the wildfires, probably in the next farm bill, as well any sort of drought impacts, and then we need country of origin labeling for our beef producers in the state of North Dakota.”

Port: The cruelty is the point
I bring this up because a lot of you may be thinking that Trump really hurt himself with that Madison Square Garden rally, where speakers called Puerto Rico a "floating island of garbage," compared the wars in Israel and Ukraine to "bad soccer games," called Vice President Kamala Harris "the antichrist," and suggested that Black people might want to carve watermelons instead of pumpkins this Halloween.
|
In any normal political cycle, this rally would be a catastrophe for the candidate. And, to be sure, Trump's getting some heat, even from some usually sycophantic Republicans who decided to take their integrity out of the closet and try it on for a little bit.

|
How did those 3 names next to my presidential candidate get there?
Electors for the Democratic-NPL Party are Carol Davis, a former vice president of Turtle Mountain Community College; Byron Knutson, a former state insurance and state labor commissioner; and E. Jane Sinner, wife of the late Gov. George Sinner.

Kamala Harris pairs anti-Trump attack with economic pitch at packed D.C. rally
“He says one of his highest priorities is to set free the violent extremists who assaulted those law enforcement officers on January 6,” Harris said. “Donald Trump intends to use the United States military against American citizens who simply disagree with him — people he calls ‘the enemy from within.’ This is not a candidate for president who is thinking about how to make your life better.”

Trump Says RFK Jr. Should Be in Charge of Women’s Health and Liz Cheney Should Get Shot in the Face
Trump, holding a Thursday event with Tucker Carlson, said that he would assign Kennedy “to work on health and women’s health.” This is, frankly, an ominous promise: Among the stories about RFK Jr. and women that circulated during the campaign were decade-old reports about diaries in which he recorded having cheated on his then-wife 37 times in one year, present-day accusations that he helped break up the engagement of a journalist who covered him by “sexting” with her, and a Vanity Fair piece in which a woman who worked for him as a nanny said he had repeatedly harassed and touched her sexually without her consent.

Largest local Texas Teamsters union endorses Harris before her rally
Texas’ largest Teamsters union, Local 988, endorsed Vice President Harris before her rally in Houston on Friday.
|
In a letter first obtained by The Hill, the union, which is based in Houston, said it surveyed more than 8,000 members before endorsing her. It cited the Biden administration’s protection of union pensions and Harris’s pledge to sign the PRO Act, which is pro-labor legislation, if elected.

Analysis: Donald Trump’s campaign of relentless lying
It’s not clear how well all this lying is actually working for Trump. While it may help whip up his loyal base, Trump lost the last election, and polling has reliably found that far more people think he is not honest and trustworthy than think he is.
|
What is clear is that there is no other major current figure in US federal politics, either Republican or Democrat, who lies as frequently as Trump does. President Joe Biden, Trump’s initial opponent in this election, and Harris, Trump’s current opponent, certainly don’t.

RFK Jr., Whose Misinformation Helped Cause a Measles Outbreak That Killed 83 People, Says Trump Has Promised Him “Control” of “Public Health Agencies”

Bad Bunny Supports Kamala Harris, Shares Her ‘I Will Never Forget What Donald Trump Did’ Message to Puerto Rican Voters
Bad Bunny, who supports Kamala Harris, a source close to the artist tells Billboard, is getting the Democratic presidential candidate’s latest message for Puerto Rican voters out to his 45 million followers on Instagram.
|
“There’s so much at stake in this election for Puerto Rican voters and for Puerto Rico,” Harris says in a campaign video posted on Sunday (Oct. 27), which Benito shared clips of on Instagram Stories not just once, but four times. “And this election is not just a choice between Donald Trump and me. It is a choice between two very different visions for our nation. One, his, focused on the past and on himself, and the other ours, that is focused on the future and on you. Puerto Rico is home to some of the most talented, innovative and ambitious people in our nation, and Puerto Ricans deserve a president who sees and invests in that strength.”

New Data on Trump’s Border Security Record: Releasing Criminals to Jail Asylum Seekers
Trump’s policies, which deprioritized efforts to address criminal activity and focused on banning asylum, ultimately led to far more attempted illegal crossings by individuals with criminal convictions. In late 2020, the number of criminals attempting to illegally enter the United States exploded to record highs. The all-time record day for arrests of individuals with criminal convictions occurred on December 7, 2020.

Arizona attorney general's office probing Trump's violent comments about Liz Cheney
Trump has escalated his violent rhetoric on the campaign trail in the last month. He's called Democrats and his opponents the "enemy from within" and has vowed to use the U.S. military against American citizens. He has also said during the 2024 race that he might jail his political opponents.

Trump’s MSG event turns into ugly racist rally, speakers insult Puerto Ricans, Blacks, Jews
But other speakers also made incendiary comments. Trump’s childhood friend David Rem referred to Harris as “the Antichrist” and “the devil.” Businessman Grant Cardone told the crowd that Harris ”and her pimp handlers will destroy our country.”
|
The marquee event reflected the former president’s tone throughout his third White House campaign. Though he refrained from doing so Sunday, Trump often tears into Harris in offensive and personal terms himself, questioning in recent weeks her mental stability and her intelligence as well as calling her “lazy,” long a racist trope used against Black people.

Trump unveils the most extreme closing argument in modern presidential history
The huge rally was billed as the launch of the final stage of Trump’s bid to pull off one of the greatest comebacks in American political history after trying to overturn the result of the last election and leaving office in disgrace in 2021. Before he spoke, some of the ex-president’s top supporters flung race-based and vulgar rhetoric. Former congressional candidate David Rem called Harris the “antichrist” and “the devil,” while others lashed out at Hillary Clinton, “illegals” and homeless people. Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.”

Trump panned the CHIPS Act. Harris is in Michigan promoting it
The investments come from the CHIPS and Science Act — a bipartisan bill that's pouring $54 billion into the semiconductor manufacturing industry to try to bring back an industry that is dominated by Taiwan, South Korea and China.

Harris plans to visit an assembly line at a Saginaw plant owned by Corning that makes polysilicon used in semiconductors. The plant received $325 million in CHIPS funding. She also plans to tour a union training facility in Macomb County, her campaign told reporters.

Kamala Harris hitting every battleground state in final days, hoping to drive turnout
"We have seen women who are experiencing a miscarriage around a pregnancy they prayed for and being denied healthcare because doctors are afraid they're going to go to prison, and those women developing sepsis," she said. "We have seen extraordinary harm and pain and suffering happen because of what Donald Trump did in intending and effectuating and overturning of Roe v. Wade. Yes, my first priority is to put back in place those protections and to stop this pain and to stop this injustice that is happening around our country."

Here’s where Trump and Harris stand on 5 issues affecting workers
By contrast, while in the White House, Trump gutted federal employee unions and expressed support for Right to Work laws, which weaken unions by allowing workers to opt out of paying union dues. He stacked the Labor Department and the National Labor Relations Board with corporate-friendly appointees. Project 2025 details more steps he could take to render unions powerless.
