Patrick Hatelstead's (R-1) bill (HB 1475) hasn't received a vote yet. Stand up for school meals and tell your Representatives to VOTE YES on HB 1475—especially if you have Republican lawmakers!

Local Democrats express concern over federal agency cuts, DOGE
On Monday, the North Dakota House voted to approve a resolution congratulating Donald Trump on his election. Several people voted against it due to his recent actions, including House Minority Leader Zac Ista.
|
“This is what we know Donald Trump does. He likes to sow chaos, sow fear, and sow division,” said Ista.

Bathroom bill could cost West Fargo schools millions to remodel old and new buildings
That would make some school bathrooms out of compliance with the law, especially those in schools built in the 1950s and 1960s, when it was common to have communal sinks outside of bathrooms, such as those at South Elementary School.

Letter: School voucher programs are a scam
Year after year, people across our state have told legislators no to school vouchers for private schools. Are they listening? Maybe once term limits take effect, we’ll have leaders who care more about their voters than out-of-state interest groups and religious lobbyists.

North Dakota House passes ban on ranked choice, approval voting in state elections
Rep. LaurieBeth Hager, D-Fargo, said to vote for the ban goes against the will of Fargo constituents.
|
"Fargo citizens voted for approval voting. Elections are for the people," Hager said. "This is something that the residents of Fargo had on the ballot and they chose. If the residents of Fargo want to choose to go by a different voting mechanism, it's their choice. Let the voters choose."

Port: It's depressing that the 'Kingship of Christ' resolution got even 31 votes
Christians should be concerned about how this sort of obnoxious political activism reflects on their faith. Our society should be concerned about the growing number of citizens who adhere to this notion of Christian supremacy.

Make Elon PROVE The Budget FRAUD, WASTE, & ABUSE (w/ Jared Moskowitz)
we're about to find out how much Republicans really care about the deficit with the coming budget, and the Democrats must not cave. Plus, Elon's crappy math, America would not get anything out of Trump's deal with Russia, and Tuesday's violence in an Orthodox Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn. Rep. Jared Moskowitz joins Tim Miller.

Oops: Trump-Musk Cuts Just Wrecked an NIH Org Championed by GOPers
What makes this particularly jarring is that it could set back efforts to treat and develop cures for these awful afflictions, as these insiders and other experts fear. But it’s also that the potential for this center to do good—and the importance of the broader cause of battling Alzheimer’s—have both been championed by Republicans. Indeed, CARD’s full name—the Roy Blunt Center for Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias—honors former Senator Roy Blunt of Missouri, an influential Republican who spoke glowingly about its potential to advance human progress when its opening was announced in 2022.

DNC joins federal fight in NC Supreme Court election challenge
The Democratic National Committee is trying to stop North Carolina Judge Jefferson Griffin from having his attempt to throw out 60,000 ballots heard in the Republican-leaning state Supreme Court.
|
The DNC filed an opposition brief on Tuesday with the North Carolina Supreme Court to ensure they don’t unfairly take up Griffin’s case. Griffin, who is trying to get a seat on that very court, wants his case moved to that court rather than an appeals court.

DNC chair outlines pro-worker, union focus in first memo in fight against Trump
“Trump’s administration includes more billionaires than any other in American history, with a combined net worth that exceeds the GDP of 172 different countries. These appointees bring damning anti-union, anti-worker records that mirror Trump’s own,” Martin added. “Despite his insistence on the campaign trail, Trump has never stood with working people. His disastrous first month in office proves that, while billionaires will be well taken care of, working people face great danger under this Trump administration.”
