While you pay more for groceries and health care, Donald Trump is using his office to get wealthier. By a lot.
Trump’s net worth has jumped $3 billion since he took office in January. His memecoin alone added $710 million to his wealth. Annie Massa of Bloomberg noted, “no modern American president has positioned his family to make so much money while in the White House.”
An investment company linked to the United Arab Emirates purchased $2 billion worth of a stablecoin from Trump’s company. Not long after, the Trump Administration approved a multi-billion-dollar deal to send Nvidia AI chips to the UAE. Eric and Don Jr. are gallivanting across the globe, getting business deals with countries that want to be in the President’s good graces.
In a move brazen for even Trump, he is suing his own Justice Department. He’s demanding that we the taxpayer bequeath him $230 million. Why? Because the DOJ investigated his criminal activity.
Trump is demolishing the East Wing of the White House to build a giant, gaudy ballroom, promising to use “donations” to fund it. What are those donors getting in return? Donald Trump is the Quid Pro Quo President, and every foreign leader, every mega corporation, and every powerful billionaire knows it. You scratch his back, he’ll scratch yours.
Trump just pardoned disgraced former Congressman George Santos, who, amongst other crimes, was accused of ripping off veterans. A January 6th insurrectionist pardoned by Trump was just again arrested for threatening to kill Hakeem Jeffries. Meanwhile, the Justice Department is going after those Trump perceives as personal enemies like James Comey and Letitia James.
Sychophatic support pays dividends in this administration. The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, is a Trump acolyte. Our soybean farmers are on the precipice of the worst farming crisis since the 1980s because of Trump’s tariffs. Meanwhile, Chinese buyers have flocked to Argentina after Milei temporarily abolished their export taxes. Trump is also undercutting our ranchers by creating a special carve-out to import beef from Argentina.
Because of Milei’s failed policies, the Argentine economy is crumbling—his approval rating along with it. Lucky for him, Trump is bailing out his pal to the tune of $40 billion.

More than 57,000 North Dakotans are going to go hungry next month if the government is still shut down and funding for SNAP runs out. Over 50,000 North Dakotans are about to have their health care costs skyrocket or lose coverage completely. All because Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans refuse to negotiate with Democrats to reopen the government.
But there is an even more insidious reason that Congressional Republicans are incentivized to keep our government shuttered. All Democratic members of Congress and a handful of Republicans have signed on to a discharge petition to force a vote on the release of the Epstein files. They currently have 217 of the 218 signatures they need.
In September, Adelita Grijalva won a special election in Arizona to fill her late father’s Congressional seat. Representative-elect Grijalva would be the 218th signature on the Epstein discharge petition, but Speaker of the House Mike Johnson refuses to swear her in.
Julie Fedorchak is essentially on an extended paid vacation right now in part because Mike Johnson wants to help Trump cover up his relationship with America’s most notorious sex trafficker.
Untethered by the need to win reelection, corruption permeates every sinew of the second Trump Administration, and it’s dizzying to track. But the protests Saturday showed that people across our country and even our GOP-controlled state will not let this just sit back and take this.

The North Dakota Democratic-NPL is launching a new grassroots program called “Neighbor to Neighbor” where volunteers will connect with voters in your community to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. As a volunteer, you will be responsible for connecting with voters in 25 homes in your neighborhood or friends and family to help elect Democrats up and down the ballot about 3-4 times this year.
